Professor Benzao Tao gave a report from three aspects, including digital and intelligent mapping technology, new technology and development of mapping and geographic information, and intelligent society of digital mapping. Professor Tao firstly introduced the classification, status and development of surveying and mapping disciplines, as well as the education and training system; he introduced the development history from traditional surveying and mapping to digitalization and informatization stage, the development history of Beidou satellite, remote sensing satellite and other surveying and mapping satellites. Professor Tao further combined specific application cases and introduced in detail the future development direction of digital mapping and intelligent society.
